Understanding Sacred Geometry and the Shree Yantra
The Shree Yantra is the most revered sacred geometry in Vedic tradition. Comprising nine interlocking triangles — four pointing upward (Shiva) and five pointing downward (Shakti) — it represents the union of masculine and feminine cosmic forces. At the centre lies the Bindu, the point of pure consciousness from which all creation emanates.
In Dr. Bakshi's approach, colours are not decorative — they are vibrational frequencies. Each colour chosen for a layer of the Shree Yantra carries specific energy. The intuitive selection process during crafting becomes a meditative act of tuning your personal vibration to the sacred geometry.
The outermost square structure with four gates is called the Bhupura. It represents the material world and the four directions. The gates symbolise pathways through which divine energy enters our earthly realm. In digital crafting, the Bhupura layers are revealed last — grounding the yantra in the physical.
The five downward-pointing triangles represent Shakti — the feminine creative force. The four upward-pointing triangles represent Shiva — masculine consciousness. Their intersection creates 43 smaller triangles, each associated with a specific aspect of divinity in the Sri Vidya tradition.
At the absolute centre of the Shree Yantra lies the Bindu — a single point representing pure, undifferentiated consciousness. In Dr. Bakshi's method, this is where your name, birthdate, and wish are placed, personalising the cosmic instrument with your individual intention.
Two rings of lotus petals surround the triangles — 16 outer petals connected to the senses and natural elements, and 8 inner petals representing inner qualities like compassion, focus, and balance. The lotus symbolises spiritual awakening from the material world.
